About Us

The Bida Baking Difference


My name is Korine Adams. I am a mother, wife, pastry chef, baker, boss lady, mama cat, & hostess at heart.

I was born in Austin, TX. I moved to the Chicago suburbs when I was 10. I have always connected with baking. I decided to make a career of it when I realized baking is my favorite thing to do. I decided to make a business of it when I realized I want to be my own boss. You really can do what you love!

My first job was at a cookie shop in the mall, decorating giant cookies. After that I went on to bread baking overnight, cake decorating at grocery stores, & managing bakeries. My journey took me from small-town bakery jobs to attend the French Pastry School in Chicago.

I graduated to jobs throughout the city where I practiced & studied the science of baking. I am now the Executive Pastry Chef at Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, IL & the entrepreneur of Bida Baking Co.

Bidda is a nickname that started when Korine was 9 months old.

She would just talk like that, “bidda bidda, bidda…”. I would sing to her & she would get so excited & say “bidda bidda boo”. We would talk back & forth. “It was our own private language.” – Kathy, Korine’s Mom

I was made in the 80’s. That’s when the whole bidda bidda thing started between my mom & I.

The launch of Bida Baking Co is 36 years in the making; driven to share the love of baking in various ways. Custom cakes & desserts, classes, & parties. I want to share the whole experience with people.

We want to make your celebration a success! Bida Baking Co. promises to offer fresh, all natural desserts made with care. We can add sugar (*or spice) to your party.

Stephanie Beckstrom

Stephanie still recalls making assorted cookies and pastries in her Nana’s kitchen when she was 6. Her love of the kitchen was inspired by her Nana’s baking. Later, Beckstrom would attend Elgin Community College in Illinois studying Pastry Arts.

While at ECC she interned at several small bakeries. One that stood out to her the most was “Moveable Feast” where she met Pastry Chef Anne Marie who taught her the fundamentals of time management and execution in the kitchen.

She then made her way to Grand Victoria Casino, working under Executive Pastry Chef Korine Adams who would become one of her main influences, roll models, and now great friend. Together they express what the true love of baking is. Beckstrom enjoys giving her time and talking about her passion of pastries to everyone she meets.
